While I appreciate the excitement for our Messiah's impending arrival, His season of celebration has not yet come.
We need time to build that thrill of hope and joyful anticipation within us before we can fully rejoice for that night divine. And we want to be ready with room in our hearts prepared for our Savior.
Like a modern day John the Baptist, and the prophets of old before him, the simple stillness of Advent offers us an opportunity to "prepare ye the way of the Lord" within our souls.
